Summit FAQ’s
What is the cost to attend? The June 27 Summit cost is $100, and the June 28 Youth Summit is $15 to attend. Because the audiences can differ from day to day, you’ll need to register for each individual day if you intend to join us for both days!
Can youth attend both days? Yes! While the June 28 Youth Summit is geared toward young people ages 14 to 24, we also have sessions during all June 27 workshop blocks that will be applicable to young people.
Can adults attend the Youth Summit? Any adults attending the Youth Summit should be there in support of young people who are also in attendance. The Youth Summit is meant to be a space for young people to learn, share their experiences, and grow their own power. It’s our goal to ensure that adults who are attending are there as allies and supports – not as spectators.
Do I need to register if I’m attending alongside a young person? Yes, anyone attending sessions, workshops, or lunch, needs to be officially registered.
What is the venue? The University of Georgia Center for Continuing Education and Hotel, 1197 S. Lumpkin Street, is the site for our conference, and it’s also the official hotel for guests staying overnight for the Summit. The Georgia Center is on the campus of UGA, near Stegeman Coliseum and just up the hill from Sanford Stadium. It’s a great opportunity to informally tour campus with groups of young people before or after the start of the Summit!
What is the dress code? The dress code for the Summit is business casual. We encourage attendees to dress for a combination of networking and comfort. Dressing in layers is always encouraged, in the event that climate control in our facilities isn’t to your level of comfort.
Is parking covered? Yes, all registered attendees will receive a parking voucher at registration. If you’re staying at the Georgia Center as a hotel guest, your parking is part of your stay. The attached parking deck is located at 1197 S. Lumpkin Street.
Are meals included? Lunch and snacks are included in your ticket for each day of the Summit.
Can I attend only the Excellence in Mentoring Lunch on June 27? Yes! If you intend to join us for only lunch on June 27, you’ll go through the Summit registration page. and use code FANN15LUNCH at checkout
What is the hotel rate? The room block deadline for this event has passed. If you still need a hotel room, please call the Georgia Center directly: (706) 542-2134.
